April Newsletter 2009 Happy Spring! National Scrapbooking Day Crop- A - Lot It's getting close to that time of year where scrapbookers unite and enjoy their special day with friends and family! Mark your calendars now to reserve your spot for our National Scrapbooking Day Crop-A-Thon! We will start the event on Friday night, May 1st at 5:00 PM and remain until 12:00 AM. Head home and start all over again at 9:00 AM the following morning until 4:00 PM on Saturday, May 2nd. If you're able to only do one of the two day's, we will be scheduling slots on a first come until all spaces are filled. Our Friday night crop fee is $12.00 and Saturday will be $25.00. Register for both days and the cost is $30.00. We will be having special sales throughout the day. We will include a Friday night dinner as well as continental breakfast on Saturday and a pizza lunch. SHOP HOP - New Hampshire Scrapbooking Stores ( NH QuicKutz Die) Scrappin' Soul Sisters is pleased to announce the second annual Shop Hop with New Hampshire Independent Scrapbooking Stores. During the month of April, Independent Scrapbooking stores are teaming up to offer you a shopping extravaganza! Passports will be available for sale at Wholly Scrap!, Scrapbook Island, Stamping Memories, Scrappin' Soul Sisters, The Paper Tree, Stamping Designs, Generations of Memories and Frugal Scrapper, and NH Scrapbook Cabin to purchase for $5.00 each. What does the passport get you? It will provide you with special sales at each of these participating stores as well as a chance to win gift certificates to each of the stores once your passport has been stamped and completed at each store visited. It's a shopping adventure you don't want to miss! Passports are on sale at the participating store locations. Upcoming Themes: May- Graduation, June- Summer, July- Birthday, August- Sympathy Swap Rules: 1. You need to make the exact same card 6 times. You will receive your card back along with 5 other different cards. 2. Size of the cards should be 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 inches. (This is an A4 size card) No need to supply envelopes unless you want to. 3. Bazzill cardstock is best; you can use heavy cardstock also if you wish. 4. Please embellish each card front at least twice. DO NOT use stickers as embellishments. Patterned paper does not count as an embellishment. Also all supplies need to be acid free. 5. Please DO NOT use your own handwriting on the cards. Computer, stamps, etc. are all OK for the words. 6. There is no need to fill the inside of the card unless you want to. Blanks are OK. 7. Please bring your completed cards to SSS in a ziploc bag with your name written on it. 8. Envelopes do not need to be included. It's Your Day Celebration! Show us your ID during your birthday week (Sunday - Saturday) and take 20% off your entire purchase (one time only). The paper line chosen for the class has bling and glitter, which will make cheerful cards with a whimsical touch. Cricut Class Date: April 11th 10:30 - 12:00 PM Cost:$20.00 Instructor: Judy Do you own a Cricut? Have no clue, how to use all the features? Want to learn about the features your machine can do and the beautiful items you can create? Join Judy as she walks you through the ABC's of Cricut Designs. Flower Soft Card Class Date: April 18th 11:00 - 1:00 PM Cost:$18.00 Instructor: Heidi This class will show you how to use one of the hottest new products in town - Flower Soft™ makes beautiful realistic miniature flowers and plants in minutes, which can then be used to decorate your cards, scrap pages, presents, pictures, egg's, dolls houses and much more. Flower Soft is an amazing pot of colored sprinkles, that allows you to create text, designs and miniature floral embellishments. Flower Soft is acid free and is loved by card makers and scrap-bookers alike. The class will consist of techniques for card makers, but don't let that stop you from using your imagination. Spring Is In The Air 12 x 12 Layout Class Date: April 18th 1:30 - 3:30 PM $18.00 Instructor: Amy Welcome the change of seasons as you join Amy as she shares techniques with you on using patterned paper with coordinating colors, using a layering pattern. When completed, you will have a beautiful layout ready to add your photo's on. Mosaic Class Date: April 21st 6:30 - 8:30 PM Class Fee:$18.00 Instructor: Judy Learn how to create a beautiful one of a kind 12 x 12 mosaic layout. This technique is fun and will have your friends wondering, how did you do that? Please bring 10 - 12 themed photo's, landscaping or floral are the easiest ones to start with. As you progress with the technique, you will be able to work with "people and animals" in the photo's.
